September 15th, 2020So much of our daily lives has been pushed to digital formats; working from home, learning from home, Storytime online, live-streams, Zoom meetings, emails, and texts. We are surrounded by screens so much that, time and again, we need to get away... But, what happens when our screens won't let us?
Try our digital escape room "Download Complete" to see if you can solve the puzzles, find all the clues, and get out before you are one with the computer... FOREVER. Age Recommendations: high school and beyond, or a family of mixed ages. This escape room is contained within Google Forms. That means, you shouldn't need the assistance of Google or other search engines to find the answers. Every answer should be contained within the Form. Keep an eye out for the event and link: this escape room is currently under-construction. September 12th @ 8 PMAdults! Our Young Adult Librarian wanted to help anyone that might be facing some financial questions by researching how to make a good budget, different things you want to consider when making your budget, and her own advice from her own financial difficulties throughout the years.
Join her July 16th, 2020 at 10:00 am on Facebook Live.
(Disclaimer: Braelyn, our Young Adult Librarian is not a budget or finance expert in any sense. Please do not take the advice and personal examples she uses as such.)
Each of us has a story worth telling. Right now, Wisconsin Historical Society is looking for stories of COVID 19 and how we coped. Stories can be told via print or through a variety of artistic efforts - quilting, family photos, painting and so on. If planning to research for an in-depth story using a variety of search engines, be careful what you wish for because you're going to find the skeletons in your closet! Presented by Virginia Feld Johnson. Video will be shared online via Facebook and here. | |

Our Young Adult Librarian has a challenge. She will have prompts for things you need to find in your home. Take a picture of an item that you feel fits the prompt within the time limit, and show Braelyn a picture that fits the prompt. If you don't make it back in time or don't fulfill the prompt, you will not get a point. The person/family with the most points at the end gets a prize!
Have fun and challenge yourself to see the potential in your household items.
(This program is open to anyone and will be held via Google Hangout. Braelyn asks that only one phone is capturing prompt pictures per video: for example, if a family is participating via one webcam, please don't have every family member taking pictures individually.)
Sign-Up will be available closer to the event.
