Travel the world this summer by visiting places virtually with our Virtual Reality Headsets. You can Wander the world seeing new places rain or shine!
We have 2 headsets open from 11:30 am to 3 pm for 20 minute increments on Wednesday, June 12th. Please sign up for a time slot. *Please be advised that using Virtual Reality Headsets can be distorting and may cause motion sickness. You can use them while standing or siting. Available starting Wednesday, June 5th at 10 AMWhat do you think of when you picture a hot Summer day? Teens are invited to stop by the library on Wednesday, June 5th starting at 10 AM to pick up their own Boba Tea Kit. Kits will be available at the circulation desk. Learn how to view, save, share, organize, and edit photos on your smartphone on Saturday, June 1st from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. This class is designed for smartphone users who are comfortable with the basics and are ready to learn more about managing photos on their device. For both iPhone and Android smartphones. Have a smartphone? Bring it with you for hands-on practice. Don’t forget to bring your login credentials for your phone and Apple or Google account! Moderate tech experience recommended.

Today's Movie is: Movie: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Rating: PG Runtime: 1 HR 26 MIN Our After School Movie program is geared towards children and tweens along with their caregivers. We ask that adults with no children refrain from attending. Running from May 6th to May 31stIn partnership with the Friends of Crescent Beach, we will be encouraging patrons to get out and have fun while protecting our great lakes with Beach Clean Bingo. Patrons can pick up a bingo sheet and a paper bag at the circulation desk. As patrons stay at the beach, they can fill out their Bingo card by finding various pieces of trash. Trash can be returned to the library in the paper bag with their completed Bingo card to be entered to win a prize curtesy of the Friends of Crescent Beach.

Meeting on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, join Braelyn for Adult Creative Writing. We will have writing prompts and activities for those looking for inspiration. The first hour will be used for brainstorming and writing, the time left will be for sharing our pieces (for those that would like to). All materials will be provided by the Library (paper, pens, pencils). Sharing of new or old pieces is encouraged, but not required. Ever wonder what you can do with old and damaged books? We can make a lot of crafts with them. Stop by to today, Wednesday, May 22nd from 1:30-2:30 pm to learn how to make a rose bouquet using paper.
Join us on Tuesday, May 21st at 1 pm. We are reading "The Girl from the Channel Islands" by Jenny Lecoat. Books are available in regular print, large print and on Libby (eBook and eAudiobook). You can also put a copy on hold in infosoup.

Playing word games like Scrabble help improve vocabulary, help with concentration and allows players to have fun at the same time. Scrabble was invented by Alfred Mosher Butts in 1938. We will have several boards set up by our circulation desk from 12 - 4 pm.

Monday, May 6th at 3 PMLocal artist Abbey C. will be here lead rock painting in celebration of Great Lakes Awareness Day. Stop by the library on Monday, May 6th between 3 PM and 5 PM to help us celebrate. While you are here, check out the Friends of Crescent Beach table where you can find additional information about their organization, the work that they do, and volunteer opportunities that are available for you. In honor of the World Migratory Bird Day Celebration that will be on Saturday, April 27 at Algoma High School, we are playing some Bird Bingo!
