Available starting Monday, July 11th at 10 AMStarting on July 11 at 10 AM, the Algoma Public Library challenges you to answer the question "Who Trashed Our Creek!?" in our newest addition to our collection of Digital Escape Rooms. In this fun and educational escape room, participants find a creek where it seems someone has dumped a bunch of trash. We need your help to figure out who did this and how we can keep our waterways clean.
This escape room will be available on our Facebook page, our website, or by email request. This escape room is geared towards families or older children and above. Friday, July 8th at 2 PMJoin Braelyn for Adult Creative Writing. We will have writing prompts and activities for those looking for inspiration. The first hour will be used for brainstorming and writing, the time left will be for sharing our pieces (for those that would like to). All materials will be provided by the Library (paper, pens, pencils). Sharing of new or old pieces is encouraged, but not required.
Due to the Summer Reading Program, our Adult Creative Writing program will be on a different schedule than previous months. Adult Creative Writing will be meeting: Wednesday, June 15th from 1 pm to 3 pm Friday, July 8th from 2 pm to 4 pm Thursday, July 21 from 11 am to 1 pm Come join us on the beach,Thursday, July 7th from 1 - 4 pm as we have a Luau! We will have games, Carjack Patty Wagon will be there selling food by the Youth Club and so much more!

We are helping our tail wagging and feathered friends at Door County Humane Society by gathering pet supplies between June 20th and July 2nd. They are in need of unopened (sealed) bags of dog/ cat food, canned dog/ cat food, peanut butter, potty training pads, non-retractable leashes, dog toys, cleaning supplies (liquid hand/dish soap, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes), plus more! Join us as Nick Legler, a Wisconsin biologist for the DNR’s northern Lake Michigan fisheries team, visits us on Tuesday, June 28th at 1 pm for a discussion on Lake Michigan's salmonid fishery and the Wisconsin DNR's role. Lake Michigan's salmonid fishery is important to many anglers including those locally here in Algoma. He has spent the past 10 years working as a fisheries biologist and recently started as a fisheries team supervisor, both in Sturgeon Bay. As a biologist, he works mostly with chinook salmon and steelhead management for Lake Michigan, along with inland fisheries management for Door and Kewaunee Counties.
Local Abbey C. will be here to lead a rock painting that is ocean themed, we will be painting a cool jellyfish! Registration is recommended as supplies and space are limited. There are 2 times to choose from on Monday, June 27th at 10:30 am or 1 pm.

Summer time is a great time to go traveling right? Or so we think it is. On this trip we have to make sure our plane takes off on time and doesn't detour us to the Bermuda Triangle. Are you prepared to help your fellow travelers out on this journey? It's time to pack our bags and take off! (Don't worry, no one is actually harmed in this game). *You may be with individuals you do NOT know or they may be younger than you. If you wish to be in your own group you must have at least 5-8 people sign up with you. Escape Rooms run on the hour starting at 11 am on Thursday, June 23rd. Times to choose from are 11am and 12 pm.
