Between homework, extracurriculars, jobs, family plans, and keeping up with friends, there are lots of things to fill your calendars as a teenager. The Algoma Public Library would like to help you add some more fun amongst the plans. Teens are welcome to come to the Library starting at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, November 21st to unwind with friends in our after hours Teen Game Night. Please note that because this is an after hours program, teens must arrive between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM since the doors will be locked after our scheduled open hours. Teens that need to leave before the end of the program won't be able to come back in after 7 PM. Staff will be available until 8 PM. Please make sure rides know that the library will close and staff will be leaving at 8 PM. But, what goes into making a board game of your very own? Stop by the Library starting at 10 AM on Thursday, November 16th to pick up our "Make a Board Game" kit.
This kit is geared towards kids and families. Supplies will be limited and kits will be given out on a "first come, first served" basis. Come play on our Nintendo Switch with us on Wednesday, November 15th between 3-5 pm. We will have a couple of different games available to play. Bring a friend or two for a friendly competition.
Tuesday, November 14th at 3 PMCardboard is a readily available and versatile material. We'd love to challenge young creators, engineers, and artists to see what they can create with just their imagination, a couple tools, and heaps of cardboard.

Supplies are limited. Come try out our Life Size Pac-Man game on Wednesday, November 8th from 1-4 pm be sure to bring a couple of friends. This is no arcade game but a maze you must get through without the ghosts get you! Maze will be open for people to go through.

We ask that adults with no children refrain from attending. Starting Monday, October 2nd, 2023It's that time of year again! The Inktober Art Contest is back and asking for local artists of all ages to get their art on. Registrations and Submissions will be accepted starting October 2nd! Patrons can select an age group (Children's, Teens, Adults) that they would like to submit to at the time of registration. Rules and guidelines can be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Inktober Art Contest Submissions will be accepted from the time of registration till October 20th. The voting period will be the last full week of October (23rd to 28th). We will be painting/ carving pumpkins at the library again this year on Thursday, October 18th from 3-5 pm. Register for a time slot 3 pm and 4 pm. While supplies last. Each time slot will have a limited number of pumpkins to help with spacing. Call to reserve your spot.
