This Digital Escape Room will be available starting Monday, November 22nd at 10 AM on the Algoma Public Library website, on Facebook, and thru email/message request. Geared towards Children and Family. Staff available via email ([email protected]), phone (920-487-2295), or direct message on Facebook or Instagram for tips and hints if you get stuck (except during the Holiday and weekend as they will be spending time with their families). Kids, learn how to write a thank you card, decorate the cards and give them out with this grab & go kit. Available Monday, November 15th at Algoma Public Library while supplies last.

In early November, the Algoma Public Library is encouraging it's community to Give Thanks to friends, neighbors, public officials, volunteers, teachers, and more. If you would like to Give Thanks, submissions will be taken on our website (www.algomapubliclibrary.org), through email (sent to [email protected]), or in the Library through an anonymous submission jar. From November 15th to the 19th, those wonderful moments of thankfulness will be posted in the Library for the whole community to see. In addition to being at the library, the Local Cable Network will be airing our Give Thanks video during Give Thanks Week! If you would like to take part, please keep in mind not to include your or other people's personal information without their consent. It is very important that as we give thanks, we also respect people's privacy. The Inktober Art Contest Voting period starts October 25th. Votes can be cast in person at the library or via our website. Submissions must be brought to the library before October 24th to be eligible for the voting and prizes at the end.
Stop by the library October 21-23 (or while supplies last) during regular library hours to get a free Science in a Bag STEM Kit courtesy of the Wisconsin Science Festival. Activities are appropriate for ages K-12 and feature science and research happening in the state of Wisconsin.

Calling all Algoma and Kewaunee Library Patrons! Our libraries are hosting a PENNY WAR to raise money for a local organization - Violence Intervention Project here in Kewaunee County. We are having this fun month-long competition to see which library and it's patrons can raise the most money. The prize? BRAGGING RIGHTS! To participate, stop in your library branch to contribute to our PENNY WAR jar. Ends September 30th!

Children need the proper tools to achieve success in school. Often these tools are as simple as paper, pencils or crayons. The Algoma Public Library in partnership with the Optimist Club of Algoma are accepting school supply donations on behalf of the children and families in our community that are in need. Donated supplies can be dropped off at the Algoma Public Library. Examples of Supplies Needed: Scissors, Loose leaf paper, Single subject notebooks, Elmer’s Glue, Pens, Pencils, Color pencils, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Markers, Folders, and Pink Erasers These items will be available for our local teachers to pick up during the annual Teacher Meet and Greet. This Meet and Greet gives teachers the opportunity to come in and connect with the Public Library, set up teacher cards and to talk to library staff on any material needs and or any questions they may have. Join us for Story Walk on the Boardwalk! Read and enjoy while you walk on the beach. The story, "A Day at the Beach," by Tom Booth will be up from August 9 - 23rd at Algoma's Crescent Beach Boardwalk.
