Starting March 1st, in honor of Youth Arts Month and in partnership with ArtBeet,Inc., children and families are invited to pick up a Kids Quilt Project Kit at the Algoma Public Library.
Kits will contain materials to make a paper version of a quilt block, information about quilting and it's history, and more... Once the blocks are complete, they can be brought back to the Algoma Public Library for display. Stop in at the Library throughout the month of March to watch our quilt grow! Tuesday, February 22ndIt's not every day that a date that reads 2/22/2022 falls on a TUESDAY. To celebrate the day, the Algoma Public Library will have snacks, activities, and a photo-op area set up all day. Stop by the Algoma Public Library to make fun memories on this historic day.
Looking to do something fun with your kiddos? Stop by on Monday, February 14th for a fun Valentine's Day themed kit. This kit has a lot of fun activities, book recommendations and movie recommendations for the family. While supplies last.
Kids - Try some fun STEAM activities/experiments with candy hearts in this kit. Available on Thursday, February 10th.
We want to create another Community Art Project! Stop in to pick up your puzzle piece to make into your own piece of art. Paint (acrylic, oil, watercolor...), collage, use mixed media, 2D, 3D, or whatever you'd like on your piece. When we have them all collected, we will mount them and display our Community Art in the library for all to see.
Check out our Community Art Project from last year which is hanging in our program room for inspiration. Kits available to pick up via Sign Up beginning January 3rd so we can keep track of who has a piece. Pieces due back by February 7. Coding isn't just for the kids, it can be a family activity too. This program is designed for families in mind! This month's activities are screen-free coding meaning there will be no devices requiring a device. Come learn on Saturday, January 8th at 11 am why coding is great for problem-solving, critical thinking, educational and team building. Activities will be set up so that families can rotate through them.
We strongly encourage kids to be attended by an adult as this is a family activity. How well do you know your library? Stop by the library for some fun trivia about the library! Participants get a prize for participating.
Explore our universe with the James Webb Space Telescope Challenge in our NASA @ My Library Challenge. Learn all about the science behind NASA’s newest space telescope mission, the James Webb Space Telescope. The James Webb Space Telescope is the most advanced infrared space telescope ever launched and will allow us to look deeper into time and space than ever before! This challenge offers activities and videos provided by NASA via the Beanstack app.

Are you ready to play some Mario Games!? We will have a selection of multi player Mario games to play on Wednesday, December 22nd from 3-4 pm. So bring a friend and lets start playing!
*You can bring your own switch controller, the library is able to have up to 4 players at one time if more people want to play you will need more controllers.
